We have APPLICATIONS for Scholarships
that can help put your feet on the road
to a brilliant career in communications!

Since its founding in 2000, the New York Women in Communications Foundation has made a difference in the lives of more than 140 talented, deserving young women, awarding $760,000+ in scholarships to help them launch or further communications careers. Our scholarship alumnae have gone on to work at companies that include ABC News, Forbes.com, Hearst, Lifetime, Liz Claiborne, Martha Stewart Living Radio, and New York magazine.

In addition to general scholarships, we offer scholarships sponsored by Condé Nast/Glamour magazine, Hearst, Interpublic Group (IPG), NBC Universal, Scholastic, and several private foundations. Some of these come with internships or other opportunities to gain hands-on experience.

EVENT: Dress for Success

Interested in learning to dress for interviews, career fairs, and professional settings? Seeing common interview fashion mistakes? Watching fellow SU students and staff members model outfits on the runway?

Join us for Dress For Success, a fun evening with music, prizes, and of course…The Fashion Show. Business professional fashion expert Greg Victory will emcee the event, carefully walking you through the do’s and don’ts of appropriate attire while SU’s fashion icons strut their stuff.

Dress For Success will take place on Tuesday, December 8 at 7pm in Grant Auditorium (in the College of Law).

You need to purchase tickets ahead of time in the Schine Box Office. Student tickets are $3 per person, available starting today. We anticipate a strong turn-out for this event, so if you are planning to purchase tickets for a large group (your student organization, residence hall floor, fraternity, or sorority) – we encourage you to do so very soon.

Attending this event is a great way to get some tips on professional apparel if you will be going on interviews or heading out into the workplace for a job/internship
